“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” ~1 Timothy 2:5
Sin has separated us from God. We are sinners. We need a way out of this sin mess. We can’t dig ourselves out. We need a Savior. We need Jesus! Buddha can’t give us salvation, nor can Mohammed, nor the sun or the moon. Not even Mary or the Pope can absolve us. Jesus is the only one who can reconnect us to God.
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” ~Acts 4:12
We can’t redeem ourselves so that leaves only one way, the redemption bought and paid for through the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.
“ By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” ~Hebrews 10:10
Jesus Christ is the only one that can resurrect us from the dead, both physically and spiritually. He is the one that will give us life here on earth as well as eternally. He is the one that died to give us our eternal life. He is the one that will raise us from the grave and make us anew. Only Jesus, no one else.
“Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ~ John 14:6
Jesus is the mediator between us and God, He’s the bridge between heaven and earth. His life was given to reconnect us with God. Everything is in place for our eternal salvation. All we need to do is make the decision. Please choose wisely . . . because your eternity depends on it!
What if I die before I accept Jesus…?
What will happen to me if I don’t get right with God and accept this redemption of His Son’s sacrificial death? What if I’m a good person and do all the right things and try really hard not to lie or cheat, will God still not take me to heaven when Jesus returns?
Sadly, the answer is no. It’s not that He doesn’t want to, He can’t! You made the choice and God will never overturn your free will decisions, even if means to your demise. You had the freedom to accept His offer of forgiveness before you died, and you made the choice not to. There is no other way to get this free gift of eternal life through Jesus, but to accept it. We must use our own free will to make this choice. If we procrastinate too long and die before we decide, we have sealed our own fate!
“He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” ~1 John 5:12
God isn’t a meanie, God is love, pure love. He loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place so we can live with Him forever. Yes, one the cross God made peace with all sinners, but unfortunately, not all sinners have made their peace with Him.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” ~John 3:16
The responsibility for our eternity falls squarely on each and every one of us. God couldn’t have possibly made this any easier than He did. All we have to do is grab hold of His outreached hand and allow Him to save us. All we have to do is open the door of our heart!
You covered your eyes last week so you wouldn’t lose your eyesight looking at the eclipse. Maybe it’s time to cover your life so you don’t lose your eternity.
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him…” ~Revelation 3:20

I am a born again. Lover of Jesus, but I don’t quite understand how it can be “free will” if we’re condemed to hell for not choosing Jesus.
Thank you for your interest. We have the “free will” choice to choose eternal life or eternal death, there isn’t any other choice available. It’s simply the consequence of our choice, we are condemning ourselves when we opt out. Jesus clearly tells us the end results of these two choices. Look at it this way… if you’re on an airplane and the pilot tells you that the plane is going down and offers you a parachute but you refuse to put it on, can you blame the pilot? No, you are making a choice, a bad choice, but nevertheless a choice!
I hope this answered your question.
Sincerely,
Linda~
