Satan's biggest lie.

When is Jesus returning?

“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.”   ~Matthew 25:13

No one knows exactly when Jesus is returning, but we can know that the day is drawing near by what the Bible tells us. There are signs that God tells us to watch for but unfortunately, those that don’t know the Lord will be caught unprepared.

“For you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, ‘Peace and safety’, destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.”   ~1 Thessalonians 5:2-3

What is The Day of the Lord…?

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”   ~ 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

The day of the LORD is the physical return of Jesus and it is coming soon. Nearly every single sign mentioned in the Bible has come to pass. So we all need to ask ourselves this one eternally important question . . .  “Am I ready?”

If you don’t know God, now is the time to shout to Him with all your might and ask Him into your life. If you already have a relationship with Jesus, you must share what you know with everyone you meet, for we know not the day nor the hour of His soon return.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”   ~Romans 6:23

All we need to do to be ready is accept the gift of eternity from God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ His Son! That’s it! And then we need to share this incredibly good news with everyone.

Satan's biggest lie.

The devil wants us to just carry on with our lives, always telling us . . . you've got lots of time, have fun and enjoy yourself! You might wonder why would he even care. The answer is simple; it gives him more time to try to end your life. You see, if we don’t connect with God and accept the free gift of eternal life through Jesus, we won’t be going. God makes this very clear.

“Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”   ~John 14:6

What happens when Jesus returns…?

“Those believers who have died will live again! Their bodies will come back to life. All those sleeping in their graves will wake up and sing for joy”   ~Isaiah 26:19 GNT

Jesus has promised to take His faithful believers to heaven one day and on that day will also destroy the earth by fire in the event known as the “great and terrible day of the Lord.” The Day of the Lord is literally the second coming of Jesus Christ. It is great for those who know Him because it is the day He comes to take us home to live with Him in heaven for a thousand years. It is terrible for those that refuse Him, refuse His gift of salvation because they will be subjected to the all-consuming hellfire that will rain down on earth. Everything will be burned up!

I will utterly consume everything from the face of the land, says the Lord; I will consume man and beast; I will consume the birds of the heavens, the fish of the sea, and the stumbling blocks along with the wicked. I will cut off man from the face of the land, says the Lord.”   ~Zephaniah 1:2-3

This is so significant. The fact that everything will be destroyed, or un-created in the opposite order that is was created, shows us that we serve a methodical God, that He is not a haphazard God but rather a God of order and planning—of precise action and preparation.

"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”   ~2 Peter 3:10-13

You might say that I was a rather late spiritual bloomer, tripping my way into the Lord's arms not all that long ago. Nevertheless, I've been on the fast track ever since through a decade of Bible study courses and daily devotion. Changing careers a few years back and becoming a published author of Christian motivational books, leading to spiritual children's books and now this blog.
