We can have full confidence that when we talk to God, He hears us. According to the Bible, praying to God is what we’re supposed to be doing, anything else is a waste of time. Praying to angels, saints, the spirit of Grandma or Uncle Fred, or worse yet, a statue is not only useless, but it's also a sin.
We are seeing an increase in frequency as well as the intensity of natural disasters all over the world. The recent earthquakes in Mexico and Guatemala, the hurricane devastation of the Caribbean islands, as well as the extreme flooding in Texas, raging fires in Oregon, and now one of the worst hurricanes in history hitting Florida might make us begin to ponder this question. Why does God allow these things to happen when He could very well prevent them?
Here’s a bit of eye-opening truth…God is not to blame for these things! Sin is what has caused all of this planetary devolution to occur. We are living in a fallen world, a corrupted, deteriorating planet, along with everything on it. God is starting to remove His restraining hand from this world. So Satan is now unleashing his fury because he’s fully aware that his time is short. In the Bible God tells us of the coming of these end times events.

The ultimate effect of sin is degradation. The falling apart of everything, from the breaking down of our physical bodies, (sickness, disease, pain, and suffering) to the degeneration of all existence, even the planet itself. The degeneration of everything . . . all living creatures, animals and even plants. As well as the worsening of the weather and increase of planetary devastation are all the byproduct and the effect of a broken and fallen world.
Can God stop it? Yes. Will He stop it? Yes, but not until every person has made their decision either for or against Jesus. Not until everyone has heard of the gift of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus, and have made their choice, will this mess finally come to an end.

We’ve talked about what happens when we die in previous posts. However, very few Christians seem to know the truth, and because of this misunderstanding, they all seem to be in a condition of praying to dead saints and deceased relatives rather than praying to a living God, the Lord Jesus.
“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.” ~Exodus 20:4
This is something that came to my attention recently as I was visiting a neighbor. She is a sweet, little old lady that always says good morning to me as I walk my dog past her house every day. However, this day she told me that she was moving. She said she just couldn’t keep her place up anymore since her husband died. She then informed me that she had found a small condo that had maintenance people to care for everything. She is fairly crippled from her arthritis and really struggles to do much of anything, especially yard work. I told her I would be happy to help her out in getting the yard trimmed to sell the house, and she gratefully accepted my offer.
I went back the next day, and we conversed all afternoon as I trimmed the bushes and weeded her flower beds. She told me that she was really getting concerned about selling her house because she had already committed to the condo. I told her I would be happy to pray for a quick sale for her, and that’s when she told me about her prayers to Mary and St. Joseph, and to her deceased husband for help in this matter. As well as praying to a statue of Mary, and burying a statue of St. Joseph up-side-down in her front yard for good luck.
I suggested at that time that praying to a living God would prove far more beneficial than praying to the dead or to statues that can’t hear. I explained that Jesus is waiting for her to talk to Him. She looked at me with a very confused expression and said, my dear, we can’t pray to God…only Mary, the priests, and the Bible Saints can talk to Him.
I probably had the same expression of confusion on my face at that moment as I struggled to reply; “who told you this?” She explained to me that the Priests teach this in the Catholic church. I didn’t want to insult her but in all good conscience, I had to share the Bible truth with her. I explained that all of the Bible apostles are deceased along with Mary, and just like every other person that has passed away they are all dead in the grave awaiting the second coming of the Lord Jesus who will raise them upon His return to earth.
Now an expression of utter shock was on her face, her eyes widened as she replied. “My dear, who told you this?” I answered with the simple truth, Jesus! He tells us repeatedly in the Bible that we will sleep in the grave until He awakens us at His second coming. He also tells us to bring everything directly to Him in prayer.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God." ~Philippians 4:6
The Bible is very clear on the order of end times events. Jesus tells us what will happen and how to be on guard so we will recognize these things when they happen. Anyone that knows their Bible understands that these things will, and must happen before the second coming of the Lord Jesus!
Jesus compares these excessive signs of the times to that of a woman going into labor, the earth must heave to and fro and this is the beginning of birthing pangs.

I’m not going to tell you that this woman immediately saw the truth because of what I told her, but I am very sure I gave her plenty to think about.
The Holy Bible is the literal word of God. It is infallible and true, everything we need to know about our condition here on earth, as well as the hereafter, is spelled out in no uncertain terms in the pages of the breathed word of God!
No one should be praying to a statue that can’t see, speak, hear or think. Nor should anyone talk to the deceased that can neither speak, hear or think, as they are dead in the grave until Christ’s return. Instead give all of your attention to the living God, all of your prayers, and worship to a Lord who shed His blood for you.
“For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”

Simply put . . . at the end of the age, the beginning of sorrows or birth pangs will take place. We need to know what the Bible says in order to understand that everything is happening right on time. God has predicted everything through His servants the prophets, and will see us through it to the end if we just hold tightly to Him!

Are we in the last days…?
Be very careful not to believe the word of any man, priest, or especially the internet/Wikipedia/etc. It is a veritable cesspool of deception. Trust only the unfailing, truth-filled word of God. I suggest the KJV or the NKJV only, which are the closest to the original archaic scriptures.
You tell me. The following verses paint a pretty clear picture regarding every aspect of life as far as I’m concerned.

Wouldn’t you say this sounds exactly how things are in this very day and age? There’s such an enormous surge in wickedness of every kind. Crime is running rampant, murder and rape are at an all time high. Sexual immorality, pornography, multiple sex partners, indulgence in unnatural lust/homosexuality/incest/ transgenderism, and abortion, as well as overindulgence in every possible thing. Pride and greed have become the all-consuming ruler of this present world.
Oh yes, I’d have to say we are most definitely heading into the last days. God tells us that once this order of event starts, it will not end until everything that God has predicted happens. And this is all the more reason to believe that soon Jesus will come again to execute judgment upon the evildoers and restore order, peace, love, and justice upon this earth.
