Unearthing the Giant.

How can I avoid false teachings?

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.”   ~Matthew 7:15

Jesus warns us throughout the Bible that there will be a multitude of false teachers, false prophets, and even counterfeit Christs. The only way we can know what is true and what is false is to know the Bible—the absolute true word of God!

“…Some things are hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction…”   ~2 Peter 3:16

Satan is doing everything in his power to try to corrupt God’s word. In doing so, he can paint a very untrue picture of our Creator. The devil want’s us to doubt God! The very moment he gets us to doubt just one little thing, he has his foot in the door to corrupt our thoughts and pull us away.

The following story was a recent hoax on the internet, but if you weren't taught the truth of the Bible, you probably would have thought it was true. National Geographic did not post this article or this photoshopped picture, and because it is a very good counterfeit many people have fallen for this false teaching.

Unearthing the Giant.

National Geographic — Unearthing the Giant:

Recent exploration activity in the northern region of India uncovered the skeletal remains of a human of phenomenal size! The discovery was made by a "National Geographic Team" (India Division) with support from the Indian Army since the area was…

This article went on to explain the discovery of this skeleton was proof that angels mated with humans to produce giants! Whoever wrote this article used this fake unearthing to try and prove his unbiblical beliefs.

Because this article was well-written and very well staged it seemed quite believable, that is until I saw that the author quoted verses from the Book of Enoch to back his Biblical referencing. Instantly I knew it wasn’t true because I know there is no Book of Enoch in the real Holy Bible.

There is only one, surefire way to stop believing man's rewrite of God's word, and that is to know the one and only Holy Bible! Yes, there were giants of old, that is Biblical, but angles did not mate with humans to produce themThere were many giant civilizations of old mentioned in the Bible.

One of the earliest mentions of giants is found in Genesis. As well as the Rephaim, Zuzim, Emim and the Amorite tribes were also referred to as giants. And the Philistine Goliath, slain by David the shepherd boy, was the most renowned giant of all.

Nevertheless, we must truly know the true Bible in order to stay grounded in God's infallible truth. Many of these untruths were founded on nothing more than someone’s misunderstanding of the Bible mixed together with an overactive imagination—the stuff of fables. This hoax is a great example of this very thing because whoever wrote it clearly misunderstood what this verse really means.

“There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.”   ~Genesis 6:4

This article is going along with an unbiblical teaching that the angels mated with humans, and that’s where giants came from. They get this notion from a misunderstanding of one Bible verse, simply because, in the book of Job, God’s holy angels were referred to as sons of God.

Not understanding that throughout the Bible it is explained that the sons of God are those that followed God. There are only two choices; we are sons & daughters/children of God or sons & daughters/children of the flesh/man. We are either following the word of God (being led by His Spirit) or we are following the ways of this corrupt world/the word of man (being led by Satan). The following verse clearly defines the sons of God.

“For as many are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God.”   ~Romans 8:14

It’s essential that we read all scripture, in text, meaning within the storyline that God is using it, and within a KJV or NKJV Bible. By doing so, we would see that this story is the precursor to the story of Noah and the flood. In fact, in the very next verse, God says He’s going to destroy everything on the earth because man was consumed with evil continually!

It’s impossible to be fooled by these man-made stories when we truly understand the truth of God’s character—knowing that God is 100% pure, perfect, righteousness. Would an all righteous God ever allow His perfect, holy angels to come to earth and have illicit recreational sex with humans? Of course not!
I’ve also heard it said this story was referring to fallen angels, the evil angels that followed Satan, that they were the angels that mated with humans. Again, the answer is obvious! If we just studied the Bible we’d also know that all angels are created spirit beings; therefore they do not reproduce. Angels, whether fallen or not, although they can appear in human form are nevertheless all created spirit beings!
Studying the Bible and knowing the truth of the word of God is the only way to avoid being led astray by false teachings and man-made fantasies. In a nutshell, if we don’t know the truth, how can we recognize the lies?

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”   ~2 Timothy 4:3-4

You might say that I was a rather late spiritual bloomer, tripping my way into the Lord's arms not all that long ago. Nevertheless, I've been on the fast track ever since through a decade of Bible study courses and daily devotion. Changing careers a few years back and becoming a published author of Christian motivational books, leading to spiritual children's books and now this blog.

  1. I just wanted to add that if we go back to Genesis 4:26, we see when the sons of Gos came about.

“And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the Lord.” Gen 4:26

We know from Joel 2:32 & Romans 10:13 that all who “call upon the name of the Lord” shall be saved. So at some point the descendants of Seth returned to their godly roots but eventually lusted and procreated with ungodly women (i.e. Solomon and his pagan wives).

So I believe the “sons of God” were godly men. Yes, the term “sons of God” is used sometimes for angles, but only for those angels who did not fall with Satan! Fallen angels are always referred to as “devils”, “unclean spirits”, “demons” or simply “angels” (Jude 1:6), but never as the sons of God.”

Many take Jude 1:7 out of context and combine it with verse 6 to make it say it’s talking about the angels going after strange flesh. Jude 1:6 & 7 are just giving us two examples of Romans 1:25. The men of Sodom and Gomorrah committed homosexuality. The fallen angels had left their role God created them to do (worshipping Him) to worshipping the creature (Satan and themselves). It’s all outlined in Romans 1.

Angels can take on a physical form when God allows them to. That is how they are able to eat (like the visit with Abraham). And we know that eating isn’t limited to the earth for there is a passage about the manna the Israelites ate was something the angels did eat (I’ll have to look it up). But nowhere in the Bible does it say that angels can procreate (Jesus says as much in the Gospels), especially with humans! God set the boundaries that kind can only produce after kind, no crossing over! And 1 Cor 15:39 says all flesh is not the same flesh.

I am appalled when people use the birth of Jesus as “proof” that spirit creatures can procreate! It was the Holy Spirit who overshadowed Mary, not an angel. God can create from nothing, without sperm or DNA. Angels can not! “The life of the flesh is in the blood”. How then can angels magically create blood (thus DNA)? “Flesh and blood cannot enter the kingdom of God”. I believe the physical bodies angels can appear in have special attributes similar to that of Jesus’s resurrected body.

The “giants” were merely men with some more than average physical attributes. We still have giants in our time (Andre, Robert Wadlow, Sultan Kosen, etc.).
You know what’s weird? Those who believe the Nephilim were human-angel hybrids believe they still exist today and that they are reptilian shapeshifters. Yeah, crazy. I know. But that’s what happens when men add their ideas to the Bible. It becomes a sci-fi movie.

    1. If you read my post entitled, “How to avoid false teachings?”…you see that I am in complete agreement with your comments. No argument from me. And I certainly do receive my share of rebuttals on these subjects as well. I get far more blow-back than compliments for standing firmly on the unadulterated word of God. Thanks for sharing. I appreciate any feedback but especially when it comes from someone with an accurate understanding of the word of God.
      Blessings,
      Linda~

  2. I stand with you Linda because if the Sons of God was referring to angels/fallen angels then why would Elohim in Genesis 6:3 says “My Ruah shall not strive with MANKIND forever in his going astray. He is FLESH (human, Strong H1320) , and his days shall be 120 year.

  3. Why does it seem difficult staying in righteousness as in living a sinless life where is appears as your desire for your past lifestyles turns to be very attracting?

    Shalom!
    Kennedy……

    1. Hi Kennedy,
Thank you for the comment and question!
It’s a slow process, everyone grows at a different pace. I must say though, as you progress…the opposite of what you said is true. The closer we get to God, the more repulsive our past lifestyle becomes to us. Keep walking toward Him, He will do the rest. It is He who is doing this good work in you!

  4. So, I believe the Bible in its entirety but must still ask the question: by what authority do we know that the Bible is true?

    1. Q: By what authority do we know that the Bible is true?
A: By God’s authority. Jesus said, “Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” ~Luke 11:28. If we are willing to do our part and diligently study His infallible word (always asking for His Spirit to guide us into all truth), we will realize that the Word of God is true and real, living and full of power. God CAN NOT lie! ~Numbers 23:19 & Titus 1:2
Here are some verses for you to read that will help in your study. Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 3:16, Psalm 119:105, James 1:22, Luke 11:28, Isaiah 40:8, Psalm 18:30, Matthew 7:24, Matthew 24:35, Matthew 4:4, John 1:1, Psalm 33:4, Psalm 56:4, John 8:31-32.
Please let me know if you need more, there are many more verses on this most important topic.
      Thanks,
      Linda~

    2. The authority under which The Bible is said to be TRUE is captured that the HOLY SCRIPTURES were written by the inspiration of God hence the Bible will be proven true by His Spirit.
I stand to be corrected though!

      1. God told us that prophecy would prove His Word to be true and He is correct! Evrything spoken of in the Bible about Israel (their dispersal, becoming a nation again for the second time, their preparation for the third temple, etc), the first coming of Jesus (fulfilled to the letter! No man would be able to do that without error) and even the prophecies of Alexander the Great have all come true. The only prophecies left are what’s to occur in the “last days” and we can see those have already started (“days of Lot” and “of Noah”, the great apostasy, the one world religion, economy and government-stage being set for the Antichrist).

        1. We will be posting much about these topics that you mentioned (“days of Lot” and “of Noah”, the great apostasy, the one world religion, economy and government-stage being set for the Antichrist). Next week’s title is “Who is the beast in Revelation 13?” I’m sure by now you realize that I’m not afraid to write the truth of what the Bible prophesies say. Thank you for your very profound comment.
          Blessings,
          Linda~

  5. I beg to differ with your teaching regarding angels being unable to mate with human women because they were just spiritual beings. what about Jude verse 6:”And the angels which kept not their first estate (spiritual dwelling place), but left their own habitation (spiritual realm), he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”
What do we make this Geek phrase translated “Strang flesh”, a sexual sin which Jude compares to the angles that also sinned and for which they are awaiting judgment?
Sir Lancelot Andrewes, the head of King James’ 54 translators, who was said to pray 6 hours before he began his day, was a very straightlaced fellow. he did not properly translate the Greek word “hetero” which implied homosexual intercourse but used the word “Strange” to denote a man going after a same sex partner likewise these angels also went after a forbidden human partner,

I actually find your assertion that the angels were and are.— unable to become incarnate in a physical body amazing, seeing as there are countless examples in the scriptures of them Appearing as human to regular people who could not tell the difference. Even Paul himself warned us to be careful to entertain strangers as we might entertain angels unawares.
As I’m also a student of the Hebrew language, I would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to explain what God said in Genesis 6:3
As far as I know, besides the American standard version, only the King James translators properly translated the Hebrew which they translated ———“And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that FOR HE IS ALSO flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty year
s.” the main thrust of the 1st 8 verses dovetails and is centered upon what is implied about human kind being corrupted in verse 3: what while he was yet human but also something else besides.

    thanks and God bless

    Phillip

    1. Hi Phillip,
Thank you for your comment. I will try to answer each question or misunderstanding separately with the heading…”REPLY:”

      Your statement:
I beg to differ with your teaching regarding angels being unable to mate with human women because they were just spiritual beings. what about Jude verse 6:
“And the angels which kept not their first estate (spiritual dwelling place), but left their own habitation (spiritual realm), he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

REPLY: The angles referred to in Jude 6 “leaving their spiritual dwelling place” is referring to them leaving heaven, they chose to follow Satan and were cast out of heaven. This is referring to the “fallen angels” .

      Your statement:
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

REPLY: This “strange flesh” was referring to homosexuality! The men were so crazed that they even wanted to have sex with the men that were visiting Lot. They did not know they were angles, and the Angels did not have sex with them. Read the whole story. Nowhere in the entire Bible does it state that Angels mated with humans. The ONLY way one could make this assumption is if you were to take a portion of a verse out of text and inso doing, twist the word of God in order to mean something it doesn’t mean. God warns us numbers times about doing this. We are to read the Bible, “Line upon line, precept upon precept.” Isaiah 28:10. As well as Matthew 5:18. Revelation 22:18 & 19 is a rather stern warning about changing any of the infallible word of God.

      Your statement:
I actually find your assertion that the angels were and are.— unable to become incarnate in a physical body amazing, seeing as there are countless examples in the scriptures of them Appearing as human to regular people who could not tell the difference. REPLY: I did not “assert” that angels never appeared as physical beings! Don’t know where you got that idea from. They absolutely do physically appear to us, the Bible is very clear about that!

      Your statement:
As I’m also a student of the Hebrew language, I would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to explain what God said in Genesis 6:3

REPLY: NO sir. No man has ever been an angel, and angels are not human. The only thing they have in common is that they are both created beings.

I hope this helps to clear things up for you. Keep reading the word of God, and keep asking questions.

      Blessings,
      Linda~
